Privacy Policy

Timegram is built as an offline-first application. The projects you create, the timers you run, and every time log they produce are designed to live on your device, not on our servers. This policy is written to reflect that design honestly: most sections below exist to describe the small number of things that do leave your device (anonymous usage analytics and crash reports), rather than a long list of things we collect about you personally, because there isn’t one.

Timegram does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, phone number, or any other form of identity to use the App. There is no cloud sync and no backup feature. Every project, timer session, and time log you create is stored exclusively in a local database on your device.

3.1 Information You Provide, Stored Only on Your Device

When you set up your profile, you may enter a display name and choose a bundled avatar or a photo from your device’s camera or gallery. If you add a photo to a project, that image is copied to the App’s local storage on your device. None of this information is transmitted to us or to any server; it is readable only by the App, on your device.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

Timegram uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, two services provided by Google, to help us understand how the App is used in aggregate and to diagnose crashes. Specifically:

• Usage analytics. We log coarse, anonymous events such as which screen was opened, that a timer was started or stopped (and how long the session lasted, in seconds), that a project was created, edited, or deleted, or that a setting such as System Lock was toggled. We deliberately do not log the content of what you are tracking: not your project names, not the times your sessions started or ended, not your notes.
• Crash and diagnostic reports. If the App crashes or encounters an unexpected error, Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects a crash report containing technical information such as the device model, operating system version, app version, and a stack trace describing where the error occurred, so we can fix it.
• Standard mobile analytics identifiers. Firebase Analytics automatically assigns an anonymous, app-specific instance identifier to your device to distinguish one installation from another in aggregate statistics. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information, because we never collect those in the first place.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect

To be explicit about what Timegram does not do:

• We do not require or collect an email address, phone number, or password.
• We do not collect your precise or approximate location.
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, or messages.
• We do not collect financial or payment information, since Timegram has no purchases of any kind.
• We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not show ads.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.

The limited information described above is used solely to:

• Understand which features are used and how often, so we can prioritize improvements;
• Identify and fix bugs and crashes;
• Maintain the security and stability of the App; and
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use this information to build an advertising profile about you, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to operating and improving Timegram.

Your projects, timer sessions, and time logs are stored in a local SQLite database on your device, alongside your profile settings (name, avatar choice, currency-independent preferences, and whether System Lock is enabled) in your device’s local application storage. Neither is transmitted to Ashtec Apps or to any server we operate. Because this data never leaves your device, its security is governed by your device’s own security, including its lock screen, disk encryption, and operating system permissions, rather than by any server infrastructure of ours.

If you enable Timegram’s optional System Lock feature, the App asks your device’s operating system to verify your identity using whatever method you’ve already configured (fingerprint, face recognition, PIN, or pattern) before letting you back into the App. Timegram never receives, processes, or stores your biometric data or device passcode; that verification happens entirely within your device’s operating system, outside the App.

Timegram uses the following third-party services, both provided by Google as part of the Firebase platform:

• Firebase Analytics, for the anonymous, aggregate usage events described in Section 3.2.
• Firebase Crashlytics, for the crash and error reports described in Section 3.2.

These services may process data on servers located outside your country of residence. Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. Timegram does not integrate any advertising networks, social media SDKs, or other third-party trackers beyond the two services listed above.

Depending on your platform, Timegram may request the following device permissions. Each is used only for the specific feature described, and only when you actively use that feature:

• Camera & Photo Library. Used only if you choose to add a photo to your profile or to a project. The photo is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded.
• Notifications. Used to show an ongoing notification while a project timer is running, so you can see at a glance that time is being tracked. This notification is generated entirely on your device.
• Biometric / Device Lock. Used only if you enable the optional System Lock setting, to ask your device’s operating system to confirm it’s you before opening the App. See Section 5 for how this works.

Because your projects and time logs live only on your device, you are always in full control of them:

• You can delete an individual project or time log at any time from within the App.
• You can permanently erase all projects and time logs at once using “Delete All Data” in Profile settings.
• Uninstalling Timegram removes its entire local database and all settings from your device.

Aggregate, anonymous analytics events and crash reports already sent to Firebase are retained by Google according to Firebase’s standard retention periods (currently up to 14 months for Analytics event data), after which they are automatically deleted or fully anonymized. Because these events are not linked to your name or any account, we have no way to locate or delete an individual person’s analytics history on request, since there is no identifier connecting it back to you.

Timegram is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect names, emails, or other identifying information from anyone, this risk is inherently limited. If you believe a child has provided us with information in a way not described in this policy, please contact us at support@ashtecapps.com and we will investigate.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and the right to object to certain processing. Because Timegram does not maintain accounts or store personal data on any server, the most direct way to exercise these rights over your tracked data is simply to use the in-app deletion tools described in Section 8, or to uninstall the App.

The limited analytics and crash-report data described in this policy is processed by Google/Firebase on servers that may be located in the United States or other countries outside your own. Google maintains its own safeguards for international transfers of this kind, described in its privacy policy linked in Section 6. Your personal project and time-tracking data is never transferred anywhere, international or otherwise, because it never leaves your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature or a change in the services we use. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
